Where will you find Cardiff’s newest and most daring gallery? On the Third Floor of course. Matt Thomas takes the lift and looks inside.
THE team behind the Third Floor Gallery really want to make a difference. They want to bring the most unflinching, the newest, the most radical photography in Britain to Cardiff – and want to do it now. It’s fitting then that the new gallery is located round the corner from one of the most obvious symbols of the collision between old and new in Cardiff. Set on the third floor, naturally, of a Butetown building within sight of the shiny Cardiff Bay developments, the freshly painted white space will play host to some of the best new photography in the country and beyond.
